My dad went to NHC of St. Charles and has had the best experience. He was taken care of so well by the staff! I couldn't be happier. He gets to go home now and live independently due to the therapy team. They were amazing! He had a few nurses that he adored, Hema, Jaime and Mary. They are amazing and cared for him like he was family and I can't thank them enough. The social workers are so nice and really on top of everything! Dr. Itzkowitz gets a personal shout out because I absolutely adore her and wouldn't want any other doctor to take care of my dad. She gives 150% to her patients and loves them like family. Thank you so much to the staff!!!! You guys are amazing!
My mother in law was treated there and the staff was amazing in rehab and the administrative staff was equally caring for the families needs and kept us well informed always.
This place is awful. After going in to this facility. They have me assign to work 40 residents. I have no clue how they expect us a cna to give a proper care to a residents while the residents paid to be taking care & they over a cna..I feel sorry for the residents & the cna. The money that they are paying it is not worth a thing.
Many thanks to the staff, caregivers and rehab specialists. We were so very blessed that my Dad was able to be placed at this facility after his hospital stay. Dad was comfortable, welled cared for, and well fed. About his rehab he said "she worked me hard and was such a sweet girl". The hard work paid off, and Dad is on a great road to recovering at home now. NHC cared for my Mom some years ago. Dad was so thankful to be where things were familiar to him. Being in the hospital with no visitors for 3 weeks due to Covid, I believe the comfort of his surroundings and your wonderful staff is the reason he is home and doing so well today. Our loved one is not at St. Charles location but is in a different location. Reviews we read from sites are from staff to increase ratings. They do have good food, the management is poor at our location. They appear to be understaffed (some on phones, netflix at times), at one point we found our loved on fallen on the floor, staff had no idea as we found her that way. Director advised in written communication that the facility that it should be seen as doctor office with homey feel. For over 5k it should never be referred to that way. Kmov featured a news story June 2019 where dementia resident went missing for a period of time. How does that even happen? Please check out nursing home compare before placing, if you place visit often, different times, days, to be sure your loved one is getting care they deserve. We trust nhc with our most precious gift, our loved one and it's been disappointing.
